We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the Platform working, remember certain preferences where applicable, and understand how our services are used. The categories of technologies we use, including product analytics through PostHog, how we obtain consent where required, and the choices available to you, are described in our Cookie Policy (Section 4) below, which forms part of this Privacy Policy.

4. Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy is part of our Privacy Policy and explains how Kinetis Play uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform.

What we use

• Strictly necessary cookies and technologies — to keep you signed in, secure your session, and operate core features of the Platform. These are not used for third-party behavioral advertising.
• Local storage (consent) — when we show a cookie notice, we store your answer (accept or decline) in your browser, for example under the key cookie-consent in localStorage, so we do not ask you again on every visit unless you clear site data or we reset the notice for a material change.
• Analytics (PostHog) — when PostHog is enabled and you have not declined via our banner, we use PostHog to measure traffic, navigation, sign-up flows, article engagement, and (if you are logged in) activity tied to your account id and profile fields we send to PostHog for that purpose. Analytics — PostHog (detail)

We use PostHog, a product analytics service provided by PostHog Inc., to understand how the Platform is used—for example, which pages are viewed, how traffic flows through the site, whether sign-up steps complete, and which articles receive attention. PostHog may use first-party cookies, local storage, or similar browser storage to recognize returning visitors and to send usage events to PostHog's servers.

Depending on how you use the Platform, PostHog may process information such as page URLs or paths, general device and browser metadata, timestamps, and custom events we define (such as page views, article views, and sign-up-related events). If you are signed in, we may also send your account identifier (for example, your internal user id), email address, and display name or username to PostHog so we can tie activity to authenticated accounts and understand repeat usage. We configure PostHog to create person profiles for identified users only where that setting is available.

PostHog processes this information on our behalf. Data is typically transmitted to PostHog's cloud in the region we configure (for example, the United States at us.i.posthog.com or the European Union at eu.i.posthog.com, depending on our deployment settings). Your choices

When we display a cookie notice, you can choose Accept All or Decline. Your choice is stored in your browser. If you Decline, we record that preference and, where PostHog is in use, we ask PostHog to respect an opt-out of capturing where that feature is supported. If you Accept, you consent to the analytics use described in this section. You can still manage or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings; clearing stored data for our site may cause the cookie notice to appear again.

Other non-essential uses

We may also use cookies and similar technologies to:

• remember preferences that are not strictly necessary
• improve performance and reliability

5. How we share information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

Service providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Platform, such as hosting, analytics, authentication, communications, security, and content delivery providers.

Based on your current setup, that may include services such as:

• Auth0 for authentication
• SendGrid for email delivery
• PostHog for product analytics and usage measurement (see Section 4)

Legal compliance

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

• comply with legal obligations
• enforce our Terms
• detect or prevent fraud or security issues
• protect the rights, property, and safety of Kinetis Play, our users, or others

Business transfers

If Kinetis Play is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Public content

Your profile information, articles, comments, follows, and other activity you choose to make public may be visible to other users and, in some cases, to the public internet.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and business records.

If you delete your account, we may retain certain information where necessary for legal, compliance, fraud prevention, backup, or legitimate business purposes.

You may request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@kinetisplay.com or by using any in-product deletion tools we make available.

9. Children's privacy

Kinetis Play is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to help protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International users

If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, tools, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
